ARL Silacious Cancellation Letter

TT-C-490E & MIL-DTL-53072C are often confused with being actual paint coatings when in fact they are not the paint coatings at all, but a group of specifications referring to how substrates should be cleaned and military coatings should be properly applied.  TT-C-490E is the specification detailing how the substrates used in the manufacturer of military hardware and equipment is to be cleaned and pre-treated prior to a finished coating being applied. MIL-DTL-53072C is a specification detailing the appropriate coatings and coating application requirements to be used when applying CARC. This detailed specification calls out everything from the appropriate cleaning method described in TT-C-490E to the minimum dry film thickness of the primers and topcoats per substrate in the CARC system.  Questions regarding the specifics of these documents should be relayed to your appropriate project manager at TACOM for further clarification.

TT-C-490E Type III Wash Primers

NCP Coatings, Inc. is now proud to offer in addition to our conventional  DOD-P-15328D wash primer (B-875 series) for ferrous and non-ferrous metals and our MIL-C-8514C wash primer (N-8564A/B series) designed specifically for use on aluminum substrates our newest addition which meets and or exceeds all of the performance requirements of DOD-P-15328 in a Chrome Free, HAPS Free 2.5 VOC Wash Primer.  NCP Coatings, Inc. NCP Coatings, Inc. as part of our DynaSpec™ military QPL approved coatings line offers CARC topcoats.  NCP Coatings, Inc. offers our DynsSpec™ HAPS free CARC line up of MIL-DTL-53039B / MIL-DTL-53039C products in: Type I* 3.5 VOC siliceous flattened, Type II* 1.5 & 1.0 VOC siliceous flattened, Type III 1.5 VOC non-siliceous polymeric flattened, & Type IV 1.0 VOC non-siliceous polymeric flattened CARC.  NCP Coatings, Inc. continues to work with ARL to develop our Type IX 3.5 VOC non-siliceous polymeric flattened CARC as well as ZERO VOC and more durable versions of these coatings for release to the military sector in the near future. VOC.  NCP Coatings, Inc.  Water reducible CARC offers excellent application properties as well touch up ability setting the industry standard for this coatings system. NCP Coatings, Inc. DynaSpec™ water reducible MIL-DTL-64159A in conjunction with our EPP approved water reducible MIL-DTL-53030B epoxy primer now offers a more complete water reducible CARC solution.
